Brompton Technology Powers Dom Dolla’s Historic Sydney Stadium Debut

In December 2025, electronic music artist Dom Dolla made history by headlining the first-ever standalone electronic music stadium show in Australia. Playing to over 40,000 fans at Sydney’s Allianz Stadium, the concert also marked Dom Dolla’s first-ever Australian stadium show. Creative Technology (CT) Australia delivered the LED systems for the event, deploying Brompton Technology’s Tessera LED video processors to power a large-scale, high-impact visual experience befitting this landmark occasion.

Staging a first-of-its-kind electronic music stadium show at this scale came with significant technical demands. The creative team required LED screens with transparent properties to expose a lighting grid and the industrial aesthetic of the stage behind the walls, an effect that would be woven directly into the show’s visual content. The LED configuration also needed to incorporate curvature to serve the creative vision.

On the logistics side, the entire LED setup had to be completed in under two days. With rehearsals falling on one of Sydney’s hottest days of 2025, thermal management of the screens in real time was also a critical concern. The show itself demanded seamless handling of intense strobing sequences and live IMAG feeds, requiring total signal synchronisation from end to end.

• Dynamic Calibration: CT Australia relied on Brompton’s Dynamic Calibration to maintain exceptional uniformity and colour accuracy across all LED surfaces, while maximising brightness, contrast, and colour performance. At the scale of a stadium show, consistency across every panel was essential to the visual impact of the production.

• Extended Bit Depth: Provided greater image precision and dynamic range, allowing the CT Australia team to maintain exceptional image quality throughout the video pipeline, particularly in darker content and low-brightness scenes.

• Genlock: With an electronic music show featuring intense strobe sequences and live IMAG feeds, synchronisation was paramount. Genlock enabled CT Australia to synchronise the entire LED system from input to refresh cycle, ensuring seamless playback and keeping live camera feeds and LED content perfectly aligned throughout the performance.

• ThermaCal: Continuously compensated for the temperature-driven colour and brightness shifts that can develop across LED panels as they heat up during operation, separating thermal effects from the optical calibration and applying panel-specific correction in real time. This meant that even as temperatures rose, the walls maintained consistent, uniform output throughout the show, with the amount of correction adjustable dynamically to account for changing conditions.

• Quick Association: Using Tessera’s Add Fixtures from Network button, the processor automatically detected connected fixture strings and assigned them unique numeric identifiers. This allowed the CT Australia team to rapidly identify, associate and map LED panels to the project canvas, significantly reducing setup and troubleshooting time. The intuitive workflow accelerated commissioning of the large-scale multi-wall system, ensuring the rig was fully configured and ready for rehearsals within the compressed build schedule.

The scale and complexity of the production demanded rapid deployment. With less than two days to install and configure the full LED system, speed and reliability was critical, not just in building the screens themselves, but in commissioning and mapping the LED panels efficiently. Brompton’s Quick Association workflow enabled the team to rapidly identify and associate fixture strings, streamlining setup and reducing the time required to bring the system online.

The extreme heat during rehearsals added an additional layer of operational risk, making thermal visibility a practical necessity rather than a convenience. At the same time, the show’s content, heavy on strobing and real-time IMAG, required the entire video signal chain to be perfectly synchronised, with no margin for timing errors.

Dom Dolla’s headline show at Allianz Stadium was a landmark moment for Australian live music, and the LED system performed flawlessly throughout. CT Australia successfully deployed and configured the full rig within the tight two-day window, delivering a visually spectacular show to over 40,000 fans. The creative team’s vision, using the transparency of the Vanish8 panels to reveal the lighting grid and industrial stage beyond, was realised exactly as intended, with Brompton’s processing underpinning the stability and image quality required at this scale.
