Elevating the User Experience with Advanced LED Display Technology at Azman Hashim Auditorium, AICB Centre of Excellence 

The Azman Hashim Auditorium, located within the AICB Centre of Excellence in Malaysia, has long been recognised as a premier venue for financial institutions in Malaysia to host flagship programmes, major events, and corporate functions.

Owned by STF Resources, the facility completed a transformative upgrade in 2024, replacing its aging projector system with cutting-edge LED display technology. With a primary focus on enhancing user experience, the auditorium now features a state-of-the-art Absen LED display powered by Brompton Technology’s Tessera LED video processors, setting a new benchmark for high-quality visual displays in multifunctional spaces.

The key challenge for this project was delivering exceptional colour accuracy, stability, and broadcast-quality visual performance. The LED screen, used as a versatile backdrop for high-profile live events and professional photo and video shoots, required exceptional clarity and precision to meet the demands of these applications. Furthermore, integrating the new technology with the venue’s existing infrastructure posed potential compatibility challenges, particularly with API-controlled features. Ensuring seamless operation with the Crestron-based control system while maintaining sharp, vibrant visuals for a diverse clientele was a top priority.

The project harnessed the latest capabilities of Brompton’s Tessera v3.5 software, including: 

• API Integration: Enabled seamless connectivity with external systems for automation and customised control. 

• Cable Redundancy: Guaranteed uninterrupted signal transmission by automatically switching to a backup cable in case of failure. 

• sACN Brightness Control: Allowed precise control over LED brightness, ensuring consistent image quality under varying lighting conditions. 

One of the primary technical challenges was ensuring compatibility between the new LED system and the existing Crestron-based control infrastructure. Initial integration issues with API-controlled features were successfully resolved during the design phase through custom solutions. These adjustments ensured optimal functionality and smooth interaction between systems.

The installation of the Brompton-powered LED display has completely transformed the audiovisual experience at the Azman Hashim Auditorium. The vibrant, sharp visuals delivered by the LED display panels, paired with the powerful processing capabilities of the Tessera SX40, have significantly enhanced the venue’s ability to host high-quality events.

While the auditorium has yet to host external users, early feedback from internal stakeholders has been overwhelmingly positive. Equipped with one of the most advanced display systems in the region, the venue is now positioned for continued success.
