BROMPTON TECHNOLOGY ON DISPLAY WITH DIGILED AT INFOCOMM 2019

Brompton Technology is pleased to announce that leading LED screen manufacturer digiLED will feature its Tessera SX40 LED processor and XD 10G data distribution unit on its booth at this year’s InfoComm.

As well as displaying the SX40 and XD units on a dedicated plinth, an SX40 will also be running Brompton partner digiLED’s stunning new patent pending digiTHIN HD screen. This 1.5mm pixel pitch LED screen offers a true 16:9 ratio, native HD resolutions and is designed as the perfect replacement for fixed installations that would traditionally be serviced by high end projection screens. The 1.5m x 0.85m screen section on display at InfoComm will sit on digiLED’s new Squashed Frog plate, which adds extra versatility for rental style users of the ultra-thin HD panels by allowing it to be used on temporary mounts and stands.

“We’ve been keen to work with Brompton for a long time,” says digiLED technical director, Tom Mudd. “We’ve always been customer driven and recent enquiries for digiTHIN that need extremely accurate colour reproduction have prompted us to add Brompton to our processor offering. We know Brompton processors have the right capabilities and, along with highly accurate screen calibration, gives us the confidence that our clients will get a VIP processing solution on a VIP screen product.”

“We’re delighted to be working with digiLED and it’s a real pleasure to see our products on their booth at Infocomm 2019,” adds Brompton’s Business Development Manager Rob Fowler. “They were one of the first companies I spoke with when I joined Brompton and I know there has always been a desire on both sides to work together if the right project came along. digiTHIN is a product which complements our Tessera processing and I’m confident that the high-end nature of both ranges will be a strong offering for customers.”

“We always listen to our customers’ requirements and offer appropriate solutions,” concludes Mudd. “We’ve been talking to them about Brompton products for years, now we have the opportunity to show them exactly what they can do.”

details

Legendary trip-hop band Massive Attack celebrated the 21st anniversary of its classic album Mezzanine, with the Mezzanine XXI tour, which took in venues such as London’s O2 Arena and the Manchester Arena.

As well as the music, the show featured original visual work by Film Maker Adam Curtis and Video Director Icarus Wilson-Wright, shown on nearly 150 square meters of LED screen.

This consisted of multiple upstage and downstage components, made up from several different products, with the two upstage outer screens and two downstage screens simultaneously driven by a single Brompton Tessera SX40 LED processor, which took care of colour matching to the central upstage screen.

“The system had many different configurations dependent on venue and how the show evolved as it went on. At times we had three different LED products all running on the same Brompton processor with the aim of colour matching the upstage screen. We managed to achieve this to a point where the screens all looked like identical products.

Phil Mercer – Universal Pixels

“I was massively impressed with the Brompton processors’ ability to achieve parity when applying identical content to three different products. It made the set look seamless.

BROMPTON TECHNOLOGY EXPANDS TRAINING PROGRAMME

Due to increasing demand, high-end LED processor manufacturer, Brompton Technology, has expanded its Tessera training programme, adding sessions in both the US and Australia for these very popular courses.

“We want to make sure everyone gets the best out of our products and, because of that, we’re passionate about investing in training,” says Brompton Product Specialist, Cesar Caceres. “In addition, we are always keen to respond to customer requests to take our courses to wherever they need it.”

The result is an expanded schedule, with its first US training session held at the end of April in Boca Raton, Florida and a further date added on 31st May in Chicago, Illinois, both led by Sean Sheridan, Regional Technical Manager (Americas). Another first is in Australia, where Melbourne-based WooHah Productions will play host to Brompton Account Manager, Luke Hurford, on 8th May.

Meanwhile, the well-established UK training calendar at Brompton’s London headquarters has courses available on May 22nd and 23rd, June 19th and 20th and July 17th and 18th.

All Brompton training is offered free of charge, with the open sessions designed for anyone interested in learning more about how to operate Brompton’s Tessera LED processor hardware and software.

In other news Brompton recently began a co-operation with France’s Oliverdy Formation, a leading provider of industrial training for the entertainment industry. Cesar has now trained Koudzo Dalikou who leads the company’s Mur LED (LED wall) sessions and Oliverdy will now incorporate a module of Brompton training in its courses going forward also.

“With demand for training in many different territories it’s important that we have more local opportunities available and it’s exciting to see another language barrier bridged in this way,” says Cesar. “It was great to be able to work with the team at Oliverdy and we’re delighted to see Koudzo incorporating Brompton training into its syllabus.”
