    Job Summary

    Brompton Technology has a great opportunity for a Technical Support Specialist for our Tessera LED video processing system. Our products are used worldwide and especially in North America, where many of our largest clients are based. As we establish a more fixed presence in southern California, you could play an important role in helping support our growing user base in the region. You should have confident communication skills and enjoy working with people. Strong electronic and IT-based technical skills are important, and ideally experience helping to solve problems over the telephone or in written messages. Your verbal and written communication skills will need to be excellent. Each interaction you have with a client helps to build long-term working relationships. You will need to stay calm and positive under pressure, as our customers work on the world's largest and most high-profile shows. Training on Brompton products will be provided, but a strong underlying technical understanding is necessary. Experience in a technical role within the AV industry is ideal but not essential.

    The successful applicant will enjoy a short stay in London, getting to know our systems, personnel and company culture; further periodic visits to our London headquarters are expected, to stay current with new developments. Going forward, frequent travel throughout North America and beyond will be a feature of this position. 

    Key Responsibilities

    • Responding to technical support enquiries for Brompton products via phone or email, co-ordinating with our London team
    • Assisting customers with system designs and configuration for specific projects
    • Onsite support for projects within the region, including out of hours support
    • Demonstrating products to potential customers and training users
    • Assistance with preparation, build-up and tear-down at key industry events and tradeshows worldwide

    Essential Skills and Qualifications

    • Strong problem solving capabilities and the tenacity to work through complex challenges
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Thrive on interacting with people and working together to find solutions
    • A basic understanding of electronics and electrical theory
    • Good IT skills and a level of comfort working with both Windows and OSX operating systems
    • The ability to prioritise appropriately when balancing multiple tasks
    • Excellent time management
    • The capacity to remain calm when working under pressure
    • A commitment to maintaining consistently high quality outcomes
    • A valid passport and a willingness to travel

    Desirable Extras

    • Experience in an equivalent technical support role
    • A qualification in electronics, IT, or a related scientific field
    • Experience working or assisting in a live production environment
    • Film and television production experience 
    • Experience working with or using video equipment, in particular LED video panels and digital content
    •  Experience of creating technical documentation (technical bulletins, how to guides etc)
    • A working knowledge of CAD or drawing applications
    • Written or verbal ability in Spanish

    Job Summary

    The Marketing Manager will work within our group-wide marketing team, working specifically on the Brompton Technology brand. The successful candidate will work closely with our Group Marketing Manager and Brompton product management teams. They will come to understand specific products and business strategies, and develop an appropriate marketing strategy and campaigns within the wider context of our overall brand strategy. They will report to the Group Marketing Manager.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Work with the Group Marketing Manager to plan and implement Brompton's marketing strategy and establish goals
    • Take the lead on marketing campaigns and promotions, at all times building product and brand awareness
    • Develop and execute a communications plan across all available channels (e.g.email newsletters, blogs, video, social media, PR, print advertising) working closely with the Marketing Co-ordinator and Content Editor
    •  Manage Brompton's PR agency working with them to identify media opportunities and facilitate conversations with partners
    • Work together with the Creative Manager to develop creative briefs and guide direction for all advertising and public facing comms, including print, video and digital assets
    • Work with product management to prepare necessary marketing material to support new product launches, tradeshows and events, ensuring good quality control at all times
    • Ensure the sales teams across all regions have the marketing materials they require to communicate confidently with customers
    • Manage the development of marketing material to support the brand strategy
    • Contribute to planning, design and delivery of tradeshow stands or events, together with other members of the Marketing team 
    • Manage the ongoing development of the Brompton website and work with our SEO agency to ensure the site is optimised at all times
    • Build and nurture key partner relationships and gather publicity materials from customers such as project photos, testimonials and requisite permissions
    • Liaise with relevant publishing houses to negotiate paid-for campaigns
    • Work with the Marketing Co-ordinator to set goals and track progress for campaigns; analyse Google Analytics for web traffic and campaign insights to inform on strategies used and optimise accordingly, and provide reports to the Group Marketing Manager and Executive Teams

    Essential Qualifications

    • Degree in Marketing or equivalent experience
    • Previous marketing experience either in-house or agency developing plans and campaigns (at least 2 years)
    • Extremely strong communication skills in both verbal and written English
    • Demonstrable experience writing and proofing marketing materials 
    • Strong project management and multi-tasking skills
    • Experience with marketing automation and CRM tools
    • Proficiency with social media strategy
    • At least basic experience using desktop publishing and graphic design tools, sufficient to modify and complete documents based on existing templates
    • An eye for detail and an understanding of design
    • Highly competent with MS Office, particularly Powerpoint and Word 

    Desirable Extras 

    • Knowledge or experience of LED video, or live event production, film production or a related industry
    • Experience working with the Adobe Creative Cloud suite specifically
    • Experience using Google Analytics
    • Experience using WordPress
    • Ability with foreign languages
    • Experience of engaging external contractors (e.g. designers, copywriters) and managing them on projects

    Job Summary

    The Technical Writer will work within our group-wide marketing team working across all our brands. The successful candidate will create and maintain user manuals and other customer-facing technical documentation for our Pharos, Brompton and SixEye brands, working independently but in consultation with the product management and technical support teams for each brand and under the direction of an experienced marketing manager. 

    Key Responsibilities

    • Work closely with the development team and product management to gain a clear understanding of new products and features and act as a conduit for this knowledge to the marketing team
    • Work with product management and the marketing team to develop a full understanding of the audience and requirements for our technical documentation 
    • Create and maintain user manuals (online and print formats) for Pharos, Brompton and SixEye as required
    • Prepare or commission graphics and illustrations to elaborate on or complement technical writing
    • Assist our technical support teams in preparing training material
    • Act as a channel to understand user needs and participate in the process of refining usability and feature requests with the development teams
    • Coordinate translation of technical documentation into other languages as required
    • Collaborate with the marketing team and product management to help produce all other technical product documentation (including product/feature videos, data sheets, release notes, application notes etc.) in a timely and accurate manner

    Essential Qualifications

    • Degree or equivalent direct experience (5 years) in a technical subject, such as Computer Science, Physical Science, Engineering or equivalent in a technical industry
    • Significant experience (3 years or more) of technical writing, producing technical documentation ideally for software products with a portfolio of previous work
    • Strong communication skills in both verbal and written English
    • Strong interest in technology 
    • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to audiences of varying technical knowledge and understanding
    • Excellent team working and collaborative skills
    • Good organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines, managing multiple projects at the same time

    Desirable Extras 

    • Knowledge or experience of stage or architectural lighting, or LED video, or live event production or a related industry
    • Experience using Madcap Flare
    • Some experience of web design or working with markup languages, e.g. HMTL, CSS, MU
    • Some experience with programming languages
    • Some experience of storyboarding and scripting both articles and videos, technical or otherwise
    • Some experience of working with 3D rendering tools, such as Cinema4D, Blender for creating product renders 
    • Some experience of working with Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator)
